Urban legend, and not true

Scott E. Kasden, MD answers: Treated area worsens after Botox or Juvederm wears off?

I want to have Botox and maybe Juvederm. Is it a myth that I heard that if you get these procedures that they make the treated area look worse after they wear off. That's the only thing that has me scared to do it because it might be true. Please help get me on the right track with an honest answer. Thank you.

There is no evidence to support this, and I have not seen it in my practice.  In fact, with regard to Botox, wrinkles tend to improve with prolonged use because the muscles atrophy.
