Once the Botox or Juvederm wears off, the treated areas never look worse than they would have if you had never had them in the first place. Get them done and enjoy the new you.
I want to have Botox and maybe Juvederm. Is it a myth that I heard that if you get these procedures that they make the treated area look worse after they wear off. That's the only thing that has me scared to do it because it might be true. Please help get me on the right track with an honest answer. Thank you.

Dear Dawn
BOTOX wears off fast enough that once it is gone you will look about the same as you did when you first had it.
However, the hyaluronic acid fillers last much longer, on the order of a year or more. That means when it is gone, another birthday (ouch).
So the fact that you had the treatment does not make you look older but there are two processes that create that impression. First, these services should make you look 5 to 15 years younger (depends on where you start from and how much treatment you get). So you go from looking much younger to back to your baseline in a 12 to 15 month period. Our brains like the younger look and generally hate the older look.
The other reality is that when the services wear off, you are older than you were when you first got treatment. Of course the answer it just never let the treatments wear off. This is exactly why it is helpful to maintain the new look with appropriate touch ups.
