No midface lift.

Toby G. Mayer, MD answers: Too young for facelift and cheek implants?

I'm 20 years old and I'm unsatisfied with the way my mid-lower face appears. I think I'd benefit from getting a mid-face lift with cheek implants. Am I too young to be getting these procedures done?

Midface lifts are to correct a sagging face. At 20, you don't have that. You may or may not be a candidate for cheek implants. Some people have very small cheek bones and this can be augmented with cheek implants. See a plastic sureon who is experienced in doing this procedure.

A mid-face lift is not appropriate for a 20 year old seeking cosmetic surgery. This surgery is done to rejuvenate the aging mid-face. However, implants are frequently used to improve unwanted, inherited physicial characteristics such as inadequate cheek projection. Facial aesthetics will determine what is best for you.

To answer your question, yes 20 years old is too young for a mid-face lift. My goodness, there can't possibly be anything to lift!

If you're really miserable about your midface, it may be reasonable to add some filler like Juvederm to enhance your midface contour and give you stronger cheekbones. A filler like Juvederm is temporary (it will last about a year in the midface). If you love the way that looks, you may want to consider cheek implants whcih are meant to be permanent or even fat transfer, but I strongly suggest you start with the temporary and least invasive procedure possible - especially at your young age.
