Norman M. Rowe, MD answers: How can I get rid of a double chin and neck flab?

I am looking for a non-surgical, long term solution to slim down and tighten my chin and neck.  Any ideas?

There are two solutions. Either liposuction of the neck, if there are bands there i use botox there to correct the bands on an older patient. Also, liposuction of the neck and small areas can be done while the patient is awake, which is great to know!

Non-surgical solutions for bad necks:

1. Weight loss may play a bigger role in neck aesthetics than for any other area of the face.

2. Botox, if injected into the bands or turkey gobblers it can soften them so they are not as obvious.

3. Laser tightening or radiofrequency (Thermage) may have a limited and temporary improvement. May not be worth the price.

If you still have problems, surgery of this area is quite easy, with a limited downtime and minimal pain.

Hi,

If you have excess fat under your neck and chin with good skin elasticity, liposuction is a good non-surgical option for you. However, you must have good skin elasticity otherwise you will end up with no fat and loose skin.

Best,
