In fact, a true medium depth chemical peel such as a combination peel with Jessner's and TCA 35% can be very uncomfortable. I will sometimes prescribe pain medications for patients to take prior to the the treatment. I hope that helped. Dr. Rasmussen

TCA peels safe while on pain meds as long as you aren't applying it yourself

TCA peels are safe while on any pain meds and often are needed for the 30-40% TCA peels for the first day to help make it more comfortable, but don't do the TCA peel yourself at home.
