Surgical Excision of Muscles for Glabellar Wrinkles?
How long does surgical excision of the muscles last, as a treatment for glabellar wrinkles? Also, how effective is it in reducing wrinkles that now exist?

Resection of corrugator muscles for permanent correction of frown lines.
This has been done for many years. Approaches vary. In the past, it was accomplished via a scalp incision with a forehead lift, then it was replaced with the endoscopic approach. More recently, removal has been discussed via the upper eyelid incision. Results vary. Agressive removal achieves the highest potential for wrinkle correction bu may leave a "divot-like" depression that is prevented by the addition of a fat graft at the time of muscle removal.
