The best candidate for either Smart Lipo or traditional liposuction is a patient who has a stable exercise regimen and a healthy diet. The patient in this situation may still have areas of fat that just won't go away and need to be removed to provide the ideal body contour.
Smart Lipo melts fat cells that is then either absorbed by your body or sucked out with liposuction. Liposuction breaks up fat cells and or removes them with suction.
In either case you remove the excess fat cells but leave behind a small layer of fat to provide a natural soft contour to the skin. Fat cells do have the ability to store more fat, however this usually only occurs if a patient's lifestyle changes, more calories are consumed and more fat is stored. In these cases you can get fat returning to the same are or more commonly to other areas that didn't have liposuction.
Again, I have to emphasize the importance of maintaining the results you obtain post-liposuction.
THe only reports of stimulated growth of fat was with a percentage of women who experienced enlargement in breast size following liposuction of the abdomen and/or hips.
