Return to work in 2 days

Corey S. Maas, MD answers: Eyelid surgery recovery

I cannot afford to miss more than 2 weeks of work when recovering from blepharoplasty procedure. Can a plastic surgeon describe the post-op recovery typical for patients.

Though there will be some swelling and bruising, most patients can return to normal activities in two days. By 5-7 days, most can return to work. If there is any residual bruising, this can easily be camouflaged with make up. However, we advise against any strenous activity for at least 10-14 days due to bleeding risk.
