Restylane and Perlane similar

Elizabeth F. Rostan, MD answers: Perlane vs. Restylane, what's the difference?

Before i get to the doctors office for my next appointment i want to know why a company called medicis is selling 2 products called "perlane" and "restylane" even though they are the same ingredients according to the website?  i want to get fuller lips and hide wrinkles.  Which injection, restylane or perlane, do I ask for?

Restylane and Perlane are both hyaluronic acid fillers made by Medicis. Perlane has larger particle size and is thus more thick or dense and better suited for deeper fold or for deeper volume filling as in the cheeks. Restylane is the perfect choice for many patients but sometimes I choose Perlane if I feel a thicker product is needed to more perfectly fill an area. Or I use both perlane and restylane - Perlane for the deeper areas and Restylane for more softer lines and wrinkles
