Remember to consider that the optimal result is the best shape with the least scar.
If I am not using an implant, I think the best result is the lollipop scar, even though it does have more scar than the "Bennelli" or periareolar scar. In this case the vertical scar gives you so much better shaping and lift that it is worth the scar. The lift done with a "Bennelli" scar just doesn't have that nice a shape.
If I am using an implant the story changes. If you want fullness above the nipple, or the breast sitting high on the chest, you want an implant. The implant gives the breast a nice rounded shape, so now I can go for the least amount of scar. Depending on the case, it will be a "Crescent" scar or a "Bennelli" scar.
