Susie, you have undoubtedly "dodged a bullet" by not contracting with a physician, with whom you did not have a good rapport.  Of all cosmetic procedures, facelifts are the most on display.  Irregardless of the surgeon's reputation, experience and past results, if you feel that he is dismissive of you, consider it a blessing that he refused your case and referred you elsewhere.  Remember an aging face is not a surgical emergency.  You should interview other candidates and after making a short list, choose a practice, which you feel will be supportive of your needs in the convalescent period.  Good luck.
