Mommy makeover will take care of loose skin of the tummy and breasts

will a mommy makeover take care of all the loose skin from pregnancy?

The typical problem areas after pregnancy are breasts and the tummy. Mommy makeover combines treatment for both the abdomen and breasts to eliminate this loose skin. The only way to know for sure if you are a good candidate is to have a face-to-face consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Hope this helps.

A: Benefits of a Tummy Tuck

Tom J. Pousti, MD

Once you feel that you are done having children, you will greatly benefit from a tummy tuck procedure. The procedure involves repairing the rectus muscles stretched out from pregnancy and removal of excess, loose, and saggy skin in the abdominal region. Liposuction and creating a new bellybutton is also involved. Many mommy's do consider the 'mommy makeover" since the breasts usually change after pregnancy as well. Final results may be seen up to 4-6 months. You will be required to wear a binder for 1 month to help minimize the sweliing and provide support and you should remain hunched over to release tension on the incision for 1 month as well. Ask your plastic surgeon if you may benefit from a standard or an extended tummy tuck.
