There are many labels applied to facelift such as mini, modified, full, soft, S lift, short scar, limited incision, etc. The way the label is applied, or what it actually means can differ between one practice and another. Comparison can become difficult and confusing when a consultation is made with several surgeons. What is 'included' in the procedure suggested may be more or less even though the term mini is applied as there is no clear standard. In our practice we view facelift as a continuum of steps or procedures, and just as in rhinoplasty, we tailor correction just where it is needed to address our patients concerns fully, and use the shortest incision necessary to achieve our result. Be it mini or full the results should be pleasing and substantial, and typically last five to seven years depending on your place on the aging curve. Given the fast pace of society today, ten to fifteen years is a lifetime and sounds like too much of a promise. Work closely with your surgeon so that you understand what your surgeon sees as a safe and realistic outcome, and how to get there.
Best of luck,
