Microdermabrasion may not be deep enough to treat the ice pick scars on your cheek. The depth of a "ice pick" scar is beyond the superficial layer of skin, the epidermis. In order to effectively manage these scars, the strategy should involve resurfacing down to the level of the dermis, the next layer of the skin. This can be achieved with dermabrasion or fractionated laser resurfacing.
