Lower Body Lift Doctor Recommendation

Peter A. Aldea, MD answers: Lower Body Lift Doctor Recommendation

I am considering lower body lift after gastric bypass done in 1996. Can you suggest a surgeon? This will be a once in a lifetime procedure and I want to get done in 8/09. I also at least need guidelines (I know it depends on MD and locale) when I interview doctors. Thank you!

Your best starting point is to consult The American Society of Plastic Surgeons - ASPS. Every one of its members is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and unlike other groups purporting to be plastic surgeons, ASPS members have to abide by a strict code of ethics.

Visit www.plasticsurgery.org and you can get the names of members in your area. Armed with such a list, I would ask your bariatric surgeons for the names of Plastic surgeons he/she is familiar with and go and see / interview them. See their before and after pictures. Listen to how they address you and explain things to you.

Based on these interactions - pick the one you think you get along the best with and you will have made THE BEST CHOICE.

Good Luck.
