How long will teeth whitening results last?

After having a professionally done teeth whitening treatment, how long can one maintain the whiter shade or are the results permanent?

If you drink a lot of coffee, tea, red wine -- other staining beverages or foods -- your whitening results may fade a bit. However, it's easy to re-whiten. If you use custom trays for whitening, you might want to pop the trays in for a couple of days in a row every 4 or 5 months. That's all there is to getting your teeth back up to their optimum whiteness.
