Invasive vs Non-Invasive

S. Randolph Waldman, MD answers: Laser treatment for crepey neck skin?

I am 57 yrs. old with a thin build. I don't have excess fat on my neck but do have what I refer to as 'crepey' skin in the center.

Can this skin be tightened via a laser procedure, or am I doomed to undergo some type of invasive procedure to improve the appearance? (I don't have a sagging jaw line, or jowls so am not considering a mini facelift.) Thanks!

There is a lot of research currently being done to find a way of consistently tightening the skin of the neck without having to do a Necklift but so far I think all treatments have proven inconsistent at best. We are just starting a study on a new Radio-Frequency Technique and it shows some promise but I am not willing to endorse it until we have completed the study. Still for most of our patients I advise a face or neck lift to achieve the best result.
