Manish H. Shah, MD answers: Large bump after breast implants

I had breast implants and on the left one, there is now a bump, rather large, about 1 inch around that sticks up like a second nipple. I was thinking maybe sutures came loose inside or something? Any ideas what is going on here?

Without seeing a picture, this question is hard to answer. I would recommend going to see your surgeon about this new problem. Some thoughts on what it could be: hematoma, infection, rupture of implant, localized swelling, etc. The list is so broad, and frankly the complaint so unusual, that a trip to your surgeon's office is warranted.
