Scott Trimas, MD answers: Is there a non surgical face lift that works?

in my early 50s with drooping facial features.  pray that someone tells me that a non surgery face lift is available -- alternative that doesnt require going through lots of recovering.  May be I can get away with treating using filling wiht things like resatylne?

Non surgical lifting can only be achieved by restoring facial volume, otherwise there is no such thing as a nonsurgical facelift. By definition, a facelift is a surgical procedcure that lifts the underlying structures back to their original anatomic position on the cheek and face including tightening the relaxed neck muscles. There are no fillers that can achieve the same exact result; however, fillers can restore the volume losses in the face that can occur with the aging process. For example, often times with aging the cheek mounds will fall toward the jaw line and towards the lip. By adding volume back to those areas a more youthful rounded or oval appearance to the face can be achieved. This is not the same as lifting those same tissues back to their original position. Nevertheless, there is no downtime associated with the injection of fillers. Ideally, a combination of lifting and filling either with synthetic fillers such as restylane or juvederm or your own fat in conjunction with a lifting procedure can give the most natural results.
