I want breast reduction surgery and I am wondering how it all works.  Do they just do liposuction to remove the extra fat in your breasts?

Breast reduction involves changing the volume of your breasts AND changing the skin envelope.

Liposuction typically only significantly can change the volume.

The other issue to consider is liposuction of the breasts can leave internal scarring that can appear very similar to calcifications seen in patients with breast cancer. For this reason alone most board certified plastic surgeons approach liposuction of the breasts with some caution.
