Is It True That IPL Affects Moles?

I am going to have my first IPL session for facial hair removal in about one week, but I have a lot of small dark and light mole on my face. I heard that the light of IPL can affect these moles. Is that true?

IPL and moles

An IPL can effect pigmentation. If these are in the way of a hair removal IPL, You may absorb too much energy into that area and perhaps get a blister. It can also potentially lighten the color and if this is something suspicious, it make make diagnosing a skin cancer more difficult.
