Silicone and Artefill are permanent fillers that are used in only specific areas. Neither should be used in the lips but both work well in the nasolabial areas and under deep acne scars. Artefill runs about $1250 per syringe and needs an allergy test 1 month prior to use.

Permanent fillers
The only permanent filler that I would use is autologous fat. Once it takes, it is there for life. Howver, it may not completely take after the first treatment. You may need a series of treatments. Artefill and Silicone while they are permanent, they have been known to cause problems such as with granulomas.
