I had an injection of Hyaluronidase (i think). It was an injection to dissolve some restylane that I was not happy with. I now have what looks like a blister where the Hyaluronidase was injected. The blister has gotten larger over the course of several hours. Is this an allergic reaction? When will it go away?

I also had a reaction from hyaluronidase injection to dissolve restylane from under my eyes.Initially after the injection my eyes looked good. However, about 4 hours later they started swelling a lot and turned red. It's now day 4 of taking a taking MethylPrednisolone tablets. Any guess as to how long it will take for the swelling and my eyes to look normal again?

Someone please answer her because I'm having a similar problem with my over swelling from the hyaluronidase injections under my eyes and it's been 5 days and no improvement whatsoever. What do I do? Please help. Thank you.

This is an update to my original post. It is now day 6 of taking the MethylPrednisolone tablets and it is helping the swelling, but not as quickly as I had hoped and the tablets make me feel a bit wierd (weak feeling,etc.). Does the allergic reaction from the hyaluronidase take long to get out of the system or is it just swelling that takes a long time to go away or is it both? Any info regarding hyaluronidase help as there is little on the internet out it.

To eyebaghell - I would recommend checking into having an expericed doc remove the restylane by making a very fine incesion (nothing that leaves a mark)to take out the restylane. I wished I would have done that instead of the hyaluronidase. You have 5 weeks before the wedding, so if you check into it right away, you might save yourself a lot of stress. I will never do fillers again.

Eyebaghell, the hyaluronidase will probably work fine for you. Most people don't have reactions and I'm back to looking almost like I did before the hyaluronidase. If I wasn't allergic to it, I would have to have more injected as it appears that some is still left and I still look lumpy. It's been 10 days since I had the hyaluronidase injected, so your timing should work. Please let me know how it turns out for you. I go back in for a follow-up tomorrow, but doubt that I'll be doing anything except keeping my sunglassses on for the next 4 months. It's been a hard and stressful lesson.

Eyebagshell, I don't know if I told you this, but the reason I got the filler was because my daughter was getting married and I wanted to look my best and that was 3 weeks before her wedding! The doctor told me that I would look fabulous withing a couple of days! Needless to say, I didn't look my best, but thankfully I had a makeup artist that was skilled and she was able to hide a lot of it.

It has been 13 days since the allergic reaction and 5 days since I completed taking the meds. The blister look has improved a lot, but I still have some swellin in one eye and some discoloration. I can hide most of it with concealer. I probably could use another injection of hyaluronidase to dissolve all of the restylane, but I'm not going to since I had a reaction. I can't wait for it all to return to normal.

Hi all. Just to update you on my experience. I had the hyaluronidase injected on Friday. Was very nervous but my surgeon assured me it would be ok - he is an ocuplastic surgeon and uses hyaluronidase regularly in surgery. The injections were completely painless and very quick. Afterwards I did swell - 2 blister type swells under each eye so was worried after hearing your experiences. However within a couple of hours swelling was gone and restylane already started to dissapear - by 5/6 hours later restylane was almost completely gone and by next morning 100% back to normal. I am so relieved and over the moon to be looking like 'me' again. My tear troughs are still noticeable and I cant say they dont bother me but the restylane just looked too artifical and you could see it under my skin - not asthetically what I had imagined. So now I can actually look forward to getting married without worrying about what a terrible mistake I had made :-) I hope everything with you both has settled now and that things are on track to getting back to normal. This website has helped me to express my concerns and ask questions but I do think it is important for people reading this to remember that every case is individual and that the most important thing is to seek out a qualified and reputable surgeon/dermatologist that you can trust. I also think that fillers like restylane seem like a 'safe' option which is why people are who wouldnt normally consider cosmetic treatments are taking the plunge. But as you will see on this website this isnt always the case - so dont jump into having injections without thinking long and hard about what you might be getting yourself into!

I had Juvederm injected by an unskilled doctor (didn't realize at the time) and he put it right under my eyes and I looked like I had been in a bad fight or car accident under my eyes. I had asked him to put the Juvederm in my cheeks---he injected at my cheeks but aimed the needle straight up towards my undereye every time, where the hyaluronic Juvederm landed. He put the Amphase under my eyes the next week and it took it down some. There was so much that the poofiness had not gone away completely like I wanted so a few weeks later I went back for more. He put so much in one eye that my eye swelled shut, from what I assume to be a really bad allergic reaction. Now, six months later, only in that eye I have developed a large bag under my eye from the tissues being broken down from the Amphadase. Since he put too much, my naturally bag-free pretty eyes have made me look very old and tired with grey-blue puffiness. I have looked online everywhere to see how long Amphase lives in the body and how to deactivate it, but I can't find it anywhere. Please don't use hyalurondase unless you absolutely have to. I wish I would have just waited it out, or else used the MINIMAL amount. I looked so much better before.
