I tell patients to think of a breast as an empty pillow case and the implants as different size and shaped pillows. For instance, if they wear a 30 or 32 bra then high profile implants which have a narrower base diameter might fill the "pillow case" of that patient better. Measurements are made during the exam to size the different diameter implants to best match the patient's anatomy.
