“Numbness” and pain, unfortunately, can be a problem with any procedure, but especially with a brow lift where there are so many small nerves in a very compact space.

Different techniques can compound the problem, depending on exactly how they are done. To determine what can be done, you have to determine what type of “numbness” you have.

If you have an area of totally no sensation, then you may have had one of the supra-orbital nerves cut. If this is the case, that nerve can usually be repaired.

If (and this is usually the case) the numbness is a broad area of “weird” sensation, then you have had the supra-orbital and usually the supra-trochlear nerves injured. The good news is that they will recover. The bad news is that it takes up to a year or longer.

You can speed the recovery by constantly stimulating the nerves with things of different textures (feeling) and comparing what you feel in the forehead to what you feel with the same texture in an area where your feeling is normal. The pain is also usually from injured nerves.

Constant stimulation which desensitizes the nerve (the brain eventually sends the stimulus to the sub-conscious) is the best way to resolve this more quickly. If you have problems with this, there are therapy programs to help you.
