Cost of Tummy Tuck In Southern California

Donn Hickman, MD answers: How much does a tummy tuck cost?

I had 3 c-sections and planning to have a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) done, but I'm not sure how much a tummy tuck costs.  What are average tummy tuck prices?

The degree of contouring required for a successful tummy tuck will influence the fee profile. The amount of time the doctor will spend on the procedure and the associated anesthesia plus facility fees for that time comprise the quotation provided. A simple skin pull of wrinkled skin plus limited muscle snugging will of course be at  the entry level financial obligation.

Often, after pregnancy and significant weight loss, consumers present as they would to a tailor assigned the task of taking in a wardrobe that has previously been worn at a larger body size. More work may be involved  in terms of the length of scar or the seams created to obtain the tightest result. The tummy tuck, in fact, is a lower body lift in the front, as there will be some tightening across the genital area,  thighs, and hips.  The advanced high tension method of tummy tuck (LOCKWOOD METHOD) will help, restore contour to the, hips, thighs, and waist---- all of which affect proper wearing of clothes. Some people just have a protruding tummy with pretty good skin tone, and just some added fat here and there plus reduced muscle tone. They may require more liposuction and la shorter tummy scar.

Those consumers with loose tummy skin and sagging buttocks, may be candidates for more of a lower body lift and require an extended skin seam or scar which is a tradeoff for a more compelling beautiful tightening. Patients of color are most concerned about degree of scarring, and once again, need to weigh what scarring they may accept  in order to obtain the best possible tuck and contouring. Surgeons are not evasive on fees, but the physical demands of the operation on the patient and operator to acheive the desired results all play a role in the determination of the financial obligation.  Insurance rarely covers tummy tuck, except in cases where a true hernia is present, or there is painful scarring. The range of fees in Southern California are $4500-$16000.
