SmartLipo is a gimmick. Don't go for it.

George J. Beraka, MD answers: How much does Smart lipo cost?

Is there a flat Smart Lipo price or do you pay per area? Does the amount of fat you have taken out affect the cost of SmartLipo?

Hi!   I don't know a single board certified plastic surgeon in Manhattan who uses SmartLipo.  So you can draw your own conclusions.  It does not produce better results and it is more expensive than tumescent liposuction.  In general, avoid any operation tnat has a brand name or a catchy title.

As with all operations, it is the surgeon and not the machine that produces the result.  Go to a plastic surgeon and ask to see a lot of before and after pictures.

The cost of Smartlipo or any type of liposuction is determined by the amount of fat to be removed, the body shape of the patient and the areas to be treated.  Smartlipo is generally more expensive per area because it takes longer, but you are avoiding hospital and anesthesia fees, so the price usually ends up being very similar to traditional liposuction.  Not all patients are candidates for SmartLipo.  If you are looking to treat a small area, the SmartLipo might be right for you.  If you are looking for total body liposuciton or major liposuction, then the traditional procedure combined with power-assisted liposuction will likely be the best procedure.
