Botox price should be given per unit

York Jay Yates, MD answers: How much does Botox cost?

I am in my late 20s and looking to get my first Botox injection for frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet.  I don't want to get ripped off, so can someone please tell me - What is the normal cost of Botox?

The price of botox has significant geographic variability.  Prices per unit vary from about $10 per unit to $25 per unit.  Each area requires around 10-30 units.

Examples of "areas" include; forehead (worry lines), corrugators (frown lines), and orbicularis muscles (smile lines) to name some of the more popular areas of treatment.

My fee is $12/ unit and on average use about 20-40 U per patient (depending on what needs to be done).  This totals around $250-500.

A: Botox costs vary on too many factors

Prices vary based on too many factors to discuss. If you like the results and can afford the costs every 4 months, then you're being charged exactly what you should.

This question is a lot like asking how much a dinner should cost. If you enjoyed it and had enough money to pay your tab, then you got a good deal.
