How long will a breast lift (mastopexy) last?

There are several factors that go into determining how long a breast lift will last and in the end it is unpredictable but some of these factors include:

1. Age
2. Genetic tendency
3. Pregnancy following the lift
   1. decision to nurse
   2. length of time for nursing
   3. size of breasts during lactation
4. Skin laxity
   1. history of sun exposure
   2. tobacco use
5. Weight gain and loss prior to lift
6. Weight gain subsequent to lift
7. Menopause
8. Size of implants placed with the lift

All or any combination of these procedures may cause you to have a higher risk fo sagging to recur after a lift. However, the vast majority of paitents who have a lift undergo this operation only once in  a lifetime
