How long does a Lifestyle Lift Last?

Gustavo A. Diaz, MD answers: How long do the effects of a Lifestyle Lift last?

A regular Facelift or separate procedures cost so much more, but I've been told that the effects last 5-10 years if you don't smoke, or experience weight changes. How long can I expect the effects of a Lifestyle Lift to last under similar conditions?

A properly performed Lifestyle lift in the hands of a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon should last the same as a regular Facelift. Depending on the patient problems and aging a surgeon can modify a Lifestyle lift  surgery as all the surgeons here would modify their Facelift surgery depending on the type of aging that their patients have.

There should be little or no difference between a Facelift and a Lifestyle lift if the patient presents with severe or advanced aging. This means that the surgery should be the same and therefore the longevity should be the same.

The most important factor that all patients should remember is to:

  1. Do your research and look for a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon for your Lifestyle lift - Facelift
  2. Meet with your doctor on the consultation day
  3. Ask to the medical board of examiners of your state to know the reputation or actions against a surgeon. This is the most and only unbiased way to know the reputation and qualifications of your physician; not the Internet.
  4. Also remember that stress, smoking, excessive alcohol intake, and not very good night of sleep will cause faster aging; before and after surgery.
