Sculptra may last up to 2 years

Ronald Shelton, MD answers: How long do Sculptra results last?

Do Sculptra results look better or last longer compared to laser treatments? My main concern are sagging skin and jowls.

After several treatments, usually done about six weeks apart, many patients have up to 2 years or more of  benefit.

These two treatments are not mutually exclusive and sometimes compliment each other very well.  Sculptra, or PLLA, is an injectable agent that targets the loss of volume that occurs with aging.  This includes thinning of the skin and loss of fat under the skin.  By thickening the skin there is also some effect on skin laxity.  Rejuvenating lasers generally target skin for tightening, as well as, thickening.  It sounds as if you are experiencing the typical signs of aging, with both volume loss and skin loosening.  A consultation with your board certified plastic surgeon should set you on the course for correcting these common aging issues.  Good luck!
