A smart lift is a brand name operation. This usually includes a mini-lift of some sort not necessarily being performed by a plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon.  They probably won;t last as long as a "true" facelift.  Just make sure your surgeon is board certified in facial plastic surgery or plastic surgery.  Sometimes, there are general surgeons, and other non-core physicians doing these operations.  Perhaps, some may be competent to do this, but they do not have the same training as the two groups previously described. It is like me performing nuerosurgery. While I can read about the operation, observe it a few times, and probably do it, I probably do not appreciate the nuances of the procedure that produces an excellent result with limited complications, and that is why training in these specialties is more than a weekend course!
