Depends on suture type

I had a Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift 2 weeks ago. How long will it take before the stitches dissolve?

Depending on what your surgeon used, the absoprtion times vary.  Here are some absorption times for common sutures:

  • Vicryl: 30 days
  • Monocryl: 20 days
  • PDS: 60 days

The good thing is that most surgeons use buried absorbable sutures thus eliminating risks of suture marks, etc.
