T.Y. Steven Ip, MD answers: How is a brow lift different from a blepharoplasty?

Please tell me who is a good candidate for each of these surgeries and what results can be expected.

Two procedures that can improve the region around your eyes are browlift and eyelid surgery.  The browlift can raise the eyebrow position, and this elevation in the eyebrow will pull the lax skin of your upper eyelid.  It does not effect your lower eyelids.  The browlift is a total different operation compare to eyelid surgery.  It is usually perform behind the hairline in the scalp region.  It can be performed with an endoscopic or by an open technique.  The scars are nicely hidden.  The eyelid surgery is a surgery which directly effects the area around the eyes.  It can address both the upper and lower eyelids.  In order to decide which operation is best for you, you should see your plastic surgeon for a consultation.
