A brow lift is different from a blepharoplasty. A blepharoplasty is a procedure which is used to decrease upper eyelid skin or remove lower eyelid skin or bags around the lower eyes. A brow lift does just that - it lifts the eyebrows.

In some people, both procedures are needed to obtain optimal results.

To determine if you are a candidate for a brow lift, lift your forehead with your hand and place your eyebrows in a natural position. If this causes improvement in your upper eyelids, you may be a candidate for a brow lift.

Patients with excess skin of the upper eyelids are candidates for upper eyelid blepharoplasty. If you have excess bags under the lower eyes or excess skin of the lower eyelids, you may be a candidate for lower eyelid blepharoplasty.

As always, consultation with an experienced surgeon will help to determine which procedure is best for you.
