The best way is to first find a board certified plastic surgeon. There are many physicians claiming to be a "cosmetic surgeon" with limited training or experience. To be board certified in plastic surgery means that your doctor performed advanced training in an accredited residency program in plastic surgery.
Next, have a consultation with your physician and make sure that you feel comfortable. You want to not only feel comfortable with the doctor but also his staff as they will be helping take care of you. Look through photos of past patients to make sure that the work you see matches your expectations and desired outcome. Make sure your doctor is on staff at a local hospital that allows him/her to do these procedures in that hospital operating room.
If your doctor is not allowed to do these procedures at the hospital then you should be concerned. Ask your doctor and his staff how many breast augmentation procedures he performs per week or month. He should also be comfortable with all approaches and not mearly lead you to the one he has experience with.
Good luck and hope all works out for you.
