Finding a good cosmetic dentist starts with you and your comfort zone. First of all, you have to feel free to discuss your expectations (esthetic, timeline, finances) with him or her. Assess actual cases that that particular dentist has done. Keep an eye out for recurrent looks which may look great on some individuals and not so great on others. Can they deviate from that "look" that looks great in their perception, which is not necessarily yours?
Inquire about the lab that they are using and what kind of relationship thay have had with that lab (how long a relationship, possibility of shade matching with the lab tech. chair side).
Another very important factor is the comprehensive team of specialists that he/she works with. Most cosmetic cases will have a specialist on board: a periodontist and/or an orthodontist are the most common ones. A well designed cosmetic result will need balance, function and health from all aspects, therefore, not to be overlooked.
