Find a Surgeon Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery

I agree with the posters above.  The most important thing is to find a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  That way you will know they have the credentials and training to perform this surgery.  Ask to see photos of patients they have explanted.  This is not a terribly common operation, but one that most experienced aesthetic plastic surgeons perform on occasion.  Finally, make sure you feel comfortable with the time the surgeon is spending with you.  If that surgeon spends very little time explaining the surgery, you can bet that surgeon will spend little time performing it!
