Surgical scar revision of acne scars

Raffy Karamanoukian, MD answers: How can surgery help with old acne scars?

Some people have talked about they had surgery to get rid of their deep acne scars.  I don't get how that would work...doesn't surgery mean more scars?  Does acne scar surgery really work?

Ice pick acne scars can be removed by simple micro-techniques to surgically remove the deeply indented dermal scar tissue. The procedure is relatively quick and requires sutures placed at the skin edge. The sutures are removed on postoperative day 5.
