Yesteday I had a radiesse injection in a wrinkle on the lower left side of my face. Today I look like a monster! My face is swelled, my left side of my lip droops and my cheeck is twicee it's size. I am a public servant and today I have had to take benedryl and avoid contact with people due to my appearance. What seemed innocent enough is costing me a day of anxiety as well as frustration. I hope this swelling goes down soon. I would not recommend this to anyone. I also have pain, something I don't tolorate well. My doctor is wonderful, I have had many other treatments of other products by him. He claimed that along with a Botox treatment this filler was a free bonus. i didn't have to pay for it but I am frrustrated with the results.

Today I had Radiesse injection at 12:30pm in my smile lines, I kept icing it to reduse swelling, around 2pm i called my Dr. concerned that my lip is very swelled up and dropped down I looked terrible that I had to leave work for the day and go home.. couldn't face anyone.. I'm scared that it won't be better for a while. I did pay $750.00 dollars for this which upset me so much especially that I look terrible.. I will not do this again and definitely will not recommend this to anyone...

Sandra, How are you doing? Did the radiesse go away?

Well, people tend to post more if there are 'problems,' -- but I want to add a positive result from Radiesse. I did all my study over a period of a week and entered the doctor's office prepared for Juvederm ULtra Plus (nasal folds, lip lines, under eyes.) To my surprise, she steered me away from Juvederm, opting for Radiesse instead, which I knew nothing about. She did not do the tear troughs, as I'd wanted, but she did do the nasal folds and the corners of my month. The majority of it was used to plump up the area of the cheeks, and therefore raise and minimize the visual effect of the tear trough lines. She inferred that Radiesse was "new" so I am surprised today, to read that it's fallen "out of favor" over time. But I can say, it's two days later and I looked in the mirror this morning and saw myself as I looked 10 years ago. I was absolutely stunned, as my expectations hadn't even been that high. I can easily imagine this to be habit forming and I've not the budget for ongoing use, so if I do end up getting a whole year out of this change, as commonly stated in this forum, I will be elated. The only down side is, because the result is so dramatic and exciting, physically AND psychologically, that over the next 12 months, I will have to watch myself age by a full decade, before my very eyes as the results of this procedure diminish. But for the moment, I am relishing revisiting my 45 year old face once again. I've dearly missed 'my-self, as and had nearly forgotten how pretty I used to be. I plan to savor every moment of this one time reversal of the passing of time. It's not a mini-lift, but it's definitely a mini-miracle.

I just had two syringes-worth of Radiesse injected yesterday morning. I was originally very hesitant about trying Radiesse on my face, since I only had it used to fill up a dent in my nost in recent years. My problems "now" were the nasal folds running down from my nose to my mouth...and the corners of my mouth turned downward (as if I was perpetually frowning). I am 52 years old. Immediately after the treatment, I was amazed to see that my nasal folds were completely gone; I showed two friends the results within two hours of having the procedure and both were equally amazed. One had worried that my face might "puff up" unnaturally, but it hasn't. This morning, I have a slight bruise next to the one corner of my mouth, but it is easily covered with concealer. I worked yesterday afternoon and evening without any problems. I was prepared to tell my clients that I had some dental work done, but no one asked. For me, I am very satisfied with the results so far. One friend said when she had Radiesse injected in her face, she had a bit of an issue with itching for the first month or so along the injection sites. For me, nothing worth mentioning but the slight bruise. I seriously look 35 right now instead of 52. It truly is and has been a worthwhile experience.... Also had botox about a year ago to eliminate the vertical lines between my eyebrows; I thought "that" was a major miracle to correct; I can see now how that was just the "upper half" of the equation ;-)

I got Radiesse injections on my nose and got horrible bruises from them. And then whatever the augmented effect I had from the filler was unnoticeable after 1-2 months. What I could feel, though, were the nodules formed by remaining material under my skin and I could feel little balls under the skin and were making my nose bumpy! Scary! Now, how much of this is physician's fault? No one seems to talk about nodules as side-effects except for the lips. But I had them on my nose.

Hi Ladies, I have now been to three other Plastic Surgeons who say there is nothing that they can do for me. I just have to wait for the swelling to go down. I called BioForm, 1 866 862 1211, the people who manufacture Radiesse and talked with someone for an hour about my situation and all the other victims that I can see here on Realage. They said they can only give my "Doctor" suggestions on how to help, because I am not "their patient" I am my "Doctor's patient". Well, isn't that nice? My Doctor is not answering my calls or messages. What I do have is a phone number to call and put in a complaint with the FDA. It's called MedWatch and the # is 1 800 638-2041. It's called Centers for Medical Devices, for some reason. We all need to get some documentation to get this product off the shelf and out of peoples faces!!! So this is the first step. I will try to find out about a class action suit, but it's very hard to sue anyone in the business money making monopoly called "Medicine".
