Fibrodenoma and augmentation

Robin T.W. Yuan, MD answers: Can patients with fibroadenoma get breast implants?

If a fibroadenoma is proven to be benign is it okay to get breast implants? Or do I have to remove it before getting implants?

If you have a biopsyproven fibroadenoma then it is fine to get implants. If you don't have a biopsy, you might want to consider doing ths at the time of augmentation, do a frozen section to confirm it, then proceed with the implants. You should be made aware of the alternatives if the biopsy is proven something other than a fibroadenoma.
