Facial Scars

Theodore Katz, MD answers: Facelift to reduce appearance of facial scars?

I am 30 years old, 15 years ago I had terrible accident hence post-surgery scars on my face. My main aim is to make these scars look smaller.

The last two last pics posted in my review show me stretching my scar with my fingers. It looks more even and less visible then normally, therefore I thought that perhaps facelift done specifically for this purpose would be good idea?

Full details and photos are located in my review (link below).

It is unlikely that a facelift will give you significant or long lasting results to treat these scars and I think that the amount of surgery involved would not justify the minimal improvement.  Direct attack on these scars can be done with various surgical techniques with subsequent fillers and or lasers if needed.  Please see a board certified plastic or facial plastic surgeon with experience in trauma, scars and perhaps burns.  No scars can be erased.  The goal is to make them the least noticeable possible and to make it easier to cover with makeup.
