Such things as facials, masks, and microdermabrasion do not truly reduce pore size. Genes determine pore size and that is it.

There are a number of ways that you can reduce pore size but such reductions are temporary. Alcholol and a number of other substances can cause the arrectores pili muscles to pull and subsequently shrink the pore size for a short period of time. Similarly, anything that swells the tissue around the pore will cause them to temporarily shrink. A

Some of your alpha-hydroxy and betahhydroxy acids (glycolic and salicylic) are quite effective at this sort of pore shrinkage. Skinceuticals CE frulic is also adept at doing this.

Finally, a number of make-ups can deflect the eye away from pore size such as Cliniques pore-minimizer make-up.

Keeping the pores clear of sebum and keratin will also make pores less pronounced. Your Retinoids (Tazarac, Differin, Retin A, Retinol etc.) will do this.

However, nothing can change the ultimate size of your pores.
