Does anyone know how I can heal the scarring on my face from a bad chemical peel? I am devasted to say the least. They left the peel on too long while I was asleep. I have tried vitamin E--nothing helps. It looks like someome burned my face and I have white streaks at the jaw bone on both sides. If you have had this problem, too, please let me know. Thanks...signed Depressed

hi okay so the same thing happened to me except the doctor gave e an at home peel where i would use it as a spot treatment... and i have the scars and it look disgusting..i tryed vitamin e , at the moment im trying bio oil at nights and avene sking cream during the day... it has been one month since the devastating catastrophe and i don't think it got any better.. but im hopeing in a nother month it will get better... anyhow the point is... i don't think there is anything to freaking cure this stupid [problem soo if anything i suggest makeup... and MAC make up does wonders to cover it up the creamy concealer in a pot and studiofx liquid foundation and botting powder to keep it all set. so i use that everyday to hide the crap burns on my face. it totally sucks and i want to shoot myself for doing this. p.s if you find anything please let me know

Hi. I`m not an expert or anything, but I constantly do stupid things to my face attempting to get rid of acne, acne scars and scars from a car accident. Frequently, I mix chemicals and end up burning my face. The redness and white lines you talk about do eventually go away, but it takes time (6mths. or longer!) What I found to really help and speed up the process is to wash with a cleanser containing glycolic acid. Follow up with a lotion or creme that contains AHA`s. I use Alpha Hydrox 12% Glocolic acid souffle. You can order it online at www.alphahydrox.com. I`d recommend starting out with a lower percentage if you have sensitive skin. After I apply this and let it dry, then I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-wrinkle intensive deep wrinkle moisturizer. Two or 3 times a week, I also use alpha hydroxy`s 14% AHA wipes. All of these produts are gentle acids which speed up the cell renewal process. If you`ve never used AHA products before, your skin might start breaking out for the first month, but then clears up and looks great! The AHA`s help prevent acne AND get rid of fine lines. If you want to get rid of the redness faster, look for calendula oil opr products that contain it. I think you can find it at health stores, but I usually get mine from a tanning salon. Most of them carry products that contain calendula. It gets rid of redness ( sunburn) overnight. Hope this helps!

Any time we under go a procedure to make us look and feel better it is devastating when the end results are not at all what we expected. The fact that you were able to sleep during the peel is a really good indication that the TCA you received was not very strong. Which in this case is good news as far as long term scarring. The white streaks are probably a result of not having "feathered" the TCA below the jaw line. Feathering is a technique used to eliminate obvious lines of Demarcation between treated and untreated skin. If the the treatment was done more recently you need to be patient. Redness can take up to several weeks sometimes to fade out. During this healing process it is paramount that you do not expose your face to the sun. Hydroquinone is something that you may want to integrate into your skin care regime also. Follow up with your Doctor. This may not be as bad as you are thinking!

It's called, easy does it. I use an 18% TCA peel that I ordered online. I first put one application and followed the directions to the T. The next peel I did 2 mths later I left on longer and layered it, 2 applications at once. I looked like crap for a week, but it worked very good. I am using partly antibiotic cream, Vitamin E,A and D oil mixed in with it. It works for me. I wish you all the best of luck. Those of U with scars and redness and some of the other symptom's I've heard described try those oil's. I take them internally as well. Another thing that helps with your skin is consuming pineapple. I was told this from my Dr. and thought, are you kidding! I eat fresh pineapple and I tell ya, it works! Look up what I said and everything that you hear online so that you are sure your doing what's best for your skin. The Alpha Hydroxy after a peel, I was told was a big no,no.... so, just investigate. Best of Luck!!!
