Combined procedures can be done safely

Sean A. Simon, MD answers: Multiple procedures for a healthy 25-year-old?

Hello, I am 25 years old, 5'2'' tall and I weigh 135 lbs. I have not had a baby yet but I want to have a small tummy tuck and liposuction done all over my abdomen, back, love handles, inner thighs, under my chin, and take the good fat and do a Brazilian butt lift. Can I have that all done at the same time? I am also in very good health. I would be thankful if you reply. Thank You!

Combining multiple procedures in cosmetic surgery patients is frequently desirable as patients can address several areas of concern during one operation and limit the amount of "down time" and get back to their normal routine and work much quicker than doing separate procedure.  I frequently combine different procedure and this can be done in a safe manner.  In fact, I published an article several years ago in Aesthetic Surgery Journal on combining abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with other types of surgery.  This article can be referenced by checking the journal's website at

A frank discussion with your plastic surgeon should provide you with the information you need regarding what procedures can be combined safely and practically to give you the best result possible.  This surgeon should also be someone who frequently performs combined procedures and can do so in a reasonable amount of time to maximize the safety factor while still delivering outstanding results.
