Protruding nipple correction depends on the problem

Brian K. Brzowski, MD answers: Can nipple surgery correct protruding nipples?

Can excessively protruding nipples be corrected by nipple surgery? I'm a 22 year old male and mine noticeably stick out. I think it's embarrassing.

Depending upon the reason for the protrusion, you might need either a procedure that directly reduces the length of the nipple itself, or one that helps reduce the fullness underneath. The first technique simply removes the excess nipple tissue itself. The second would involve removing any fat or breast tissue that is responsible for pushing the nipple forward.

As always, your best recommendation is to make an appointment to see a plastic surgeon who can examine you and give you a precise assessment of your options.
