Can laser liposuction be combined with a tummy tuck?

There is no simple answer to this question because there are many variable and considerations to make.

In most cases, I prefer not to do aggressive liposuction is the area of the abdominal skin flap.overly aggressive liposuction on this tissue may jeopardize the integrity of the tissue and be the cause of skin necrosis. Also aggressive laser liposuction causes the same effect as a burn and can result in skin loss. I usually do the laser assisted liposuction in the lateral abdominal and flank areas. I tell my patients that they may need a secondary procedure to thin out the abdominal skin in the central area.

Often I recommend doing Slim Lipo as a first step and then waiting to see how the tissue tightens.I have had some success using Slim Lipo to remove the fat in the abdominal area as a prequel to a tummy tuck and much to my surprise the skin has contracted and the apparent need for the tummy tuck has diminished.

Treaditional liposuction can result is skin tightening but depends more on the skin elasticity of the individual . In many cases of traditional liposuction the skin can sag and the situation can look worse than it did prior to the procedure.
