Help! What Do I Do? Is Getting Them Redone the 5th Time Dangerous?

I've had my breast done 2yrs ago! I just had my 4th procedure done yesterday due to capsulars occurring on the same breast! However, my 3rd visit I had asked to go bigger from a 339 to 397 right & 421 left so they would even out. Now I'm disappointed b-cause they look the same size as when I had 339's put in me! I'm 5'1 105 & I was a 32aa! I can't afford to go back. What should I do? I'm tired of my surgeon and I feel as though I'm a b cup rather than full C small D! I feel ripped off!

Multiple redo breast implant surgeries

Many patients think they can change their implants out if they want them a little bigger, a little smaller, more even, etc, as though they were clothes that you could try on and change at will.  The path you have taken is a very slippery slope. Every redo breast surgery costs the patient something in terms of scar tissue and risk of outcome.  The breasts are never quite the same after a redo, and multiple redos worsen this problem considerably.  This is... more

When are multiple breast implant revision surgeries too many?

Surgery is an art and as such it cannot be predicted with 100% certainty. it is difficult to know why a larger implant would look the same. While I can understand your frustration, your options are to stop and accept a minor amount of difference, remove the implants or continue with more surgeries in an attempt to get a better result and risk copmplications or 5 more surgeries.

Help! What Do I Do? Is Getting Them Redone the 5th Time Dangerous?

As I have read the previous postings from the experts it strikes me that you might have unrealistic expectations. If after the second revision you were still not satisfied you did not seek other opinions, that concerns me. I recommend either other opinions from boarded surgeons in your area or just allow the result to mature over time. From MIAMI Dr. Darryl J. Blinski, 305 598 0091

Multiple Breast Implant Revisions

It seems that you may have to obtain a second opinion from another board certified plastic surgeon.  You may considered removal of implants and capsule without replacement.  A long cool down period and possible replacement some time in the distant future. Dr. ES

Communication key to meeting size goal

Hi Queen Mom, I find that most patients who are not satisfied with size after augmentation have a failure of communication with their surgeon.  Either the patient, the surgeon or both have failed to communicate the desired/achievable result.  The end result is a disappointed patient.  Generally, if you already have implants, the size has to be increased or decreased by 100-150cc for the patient to notice a difference in size post-op.  So this is one issue for you... more

Revision

After all these surgeries you must finally reach a point where you must be happy. You deserve to be happy! Every time you have a revision especially  since you have a history of capsular contracture you risk having it again. I am sure you understand  that every time one operates at any part of the body again and again the operation becomes more challenging. So you have three options: 1) Do nothing and live that since your implants are fine now although you would... more

Issues with multiple breast implant re-operations

The biggest rpedictor of re-operation is a previous re-operation; in other words each time you have surgery the odds of requiring another one increase! There are several issues you raise, but I would encourage you to focus on a few important issues to avoid repeating the cycle of re-operation. One, if the capsular contracture is fixed, count your blessings. Second, if the breasts are relatively symmetrical even though different sizes were required due to pre-existing asymmetry, be... more

Multiple breast surgeries

Everytime you have an additional breast procedure, it increases the risks of complications. I would consider a re-do very seriously and speak to a surgeon that you are comfortable with.
