Breast Augmentation and Liposuction on Someone Who Has SLE and VP Shunt?
I've had 3 kids and I've lost a lot of breast tissue and have extra skin. I have also put on 30 lbs and have muffin top, something I'm really not used to. My rheumy says my Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is not active, but I'm still on medications. I also have a VP Shunt that goes from the right side of my head down the right side of my chest to my abdomen. Can I still have breast augmentation and liposuction?

Autoimmune diseases such as Lupus can be exacerbated by any surgical procedure, simply due to the stress placed on the body by the trauma of surgery.
