Michael Horn, MD answers: Lollipop breast lift and implants in one procedure?

I am interested in getting a lollipop breast lift and a 370-400cc breast implants at the same time. I am currently a 36DD. I had one doctor tell me I need to do it in 2 seperate proceedures for best scaring results, the other tells me that I can do it in one. What is recomended?

In general , it is possible to do the breast lift and breast implants at the same time. If you are already sagging then adding more weight to the breast can make it sag more quickly. Frequently it is preferable to have breasts which are full and not sag. Starting with DD sized breasts and adding more weight to the breast makes sagging extremely likely. Most patients prefer to have a breasts not quite so large which do not sag.

Either route is considered an acceptable form of treatment.  Opinions vary among plastic surgery practitioners. I agree that with your current breast size, the need for an implant is not intuitively obvious or necessary.
